The 黑料社 (ROS) is looking to recruit up to five new scientific/clinical members to join its Research and Innovation Grants Assessment Panel (RIGAP) to complement the current panel鈥檚 expertise and help the charity fund research and innovation projects of the highest standard, with the greatest chance of having impact.
Responsible for overseeing the charity鈥檚聽Research Grants Programme, the RIGAP makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees on the allocation of research and innovation funding in line with the charity鈥檚 four-year strategy, 鈥Breaking the Silence鈥. For the duration of the strategy the 黑料社is focusing its grants programme on pioneering studies which can help close the care gap patients face (formerly, 鈥榯reatment gap鈥) and reduce health inequalities.
On this occasion we鈥檙e particularly seeking interest from clinical or non-clinical researchers involved in:
- Qualitative research
- Health Services Research - implementation and/or knowledge mobilisation research
We are also seeking clinical applicants with the following experience:
- Academic General Practitioner
- Academic Pharmacist
- Academic Elderly Care Physician

RIGAP member at the 黑料社said:
鈥淚 have found involvement in RIGAP to be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience. In particular, understanding how research grants are evaluated, gained from participation in the panel, is extremely useful of anyone interested in or involved in biomedical research鈥.
Successful candidates will be expected to attend an average of two virtual meetings per year, and review and score research grant applications.
The position of RIGAP member is offered on a voluntary and unpaid basis, but any travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed in line with 黑料社policy.
