The 黑料社today announces as the newest partner to receive Bone Health Accreditation.
Under the scheme, a wide range of products and services including foods, beverages, supplements and living aids can apply to use a bespoke Bone Health Approved logo from the 黑料社on their packaging.
Henry Mace, Head of Partnerships and Philanthropy at the 黑料社said:
鈥淥ur statistics show that there are currently 3.5 million people living with osteoporosis in the UK, yet only one in four adults are aware of what the condition means. Thanks to our Bone Health Approved logo, consumers can easily identify those products that contain bone-friendly nutrients like vitamin K, vitamin D, and calcium.
鈥淗igh in vitamin K and as a source of other nutrients, can play an important role in maintaining bone health as part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.鈥
The California Prune Board was established in 1952 to represent growers and handlers under the authority of the California Secretary of Food and Agriculture. California is the world鈥檚 largest producer of prunes with orchards across 14 counties in the Sacramento and San Joaquin valleys.
Promoting a lifetime of wellness through the enjoyment of California Prunes, the organisation leads the premium prune category with generations of craftsmanship supported by California鈥檚 leading food safety and sustainability standards.
High in vitamin K and as a source of manganese, both of which contribute to the maintenance of normal bones, the role prunes can play in bone health has become an increasingly important focus for the California Prune Board.
Esther Ritson-Elliott, Director of International Marketing and Communications for the California Prune Board, said:
鈥淲e're delighted that California Prunes have been awarded 鈥楤one Health Approved鈥 status by the 黑料社. The California Prune Board is dedicated to ongoing research into the beneficial effects California Prunes can have on health, with recent studies highlighting the positive role prunes can have on bone health in men over 50, and how a portion of prunes daily may help reduce bone loss in postmenopausal women.
鈥淲e are looking forward to working in partnership with the 黑料社to raise awareness of bone health and the role California Prunes can play in that.鈥
